Description
Get ready for an epic day hiking the Cape Hauy Track in the heart of the Tasman Peninsula. Depart from Hobart early and travel to Tasman National Park, where towering sea cliffs, wild forest, and some of Tasmania's most breathtaking coastal scenery await. Soak up the iconic Three Capes vibes as you step onto the track at Fortescue Bay.
Covering 9.4 km return (about 4 hours), the Cape Hauy walk is a real adventure, with plenty of stairs and ups and downs for a good challenge. The trail takes you through lush forest, coastal heath, and out to dramatic clifftop lookouts where the Candlestick and Totem Pole sea stacks rise out of the ocean-perfect for grabbing a legendary photo.
After your hike, rest your feet at beautiful Fortescue Bay. Take a stroll along the beach, dip your toes in the pristine water, or just soak up the fresh air in this hidden gem spot.
On the return to Hobart, stop at Bangor Vineyard Shed overlooking Boomer Bay. Enjoy a glass of local wine, try a tasting flight, or grab a bite before heading back in the late afternoon with that unbeatable post-hike satisfaction.
