Base yourself in Port Douglas for two or three nights and keep the plan simple: one reef day, one Daintree or Cape Tribulation day, and one flexible day for Mossman Gorge, beaches, or weather backups.
This works well as a first-time Far North Queensland add-on or a quieter alternative to doing everything from Cairns.
